Much as I love Kiera Knightley (and really it's only because of Pirates and that great scene from Love, Actually with the cards... which she really had nothing to do with; well, that and the fact that I'm amused when she can't close her mouth over the enormous caps over her very British teeth) I agree that there's just no point in re-making P&P.

I mean -- the rest of the cast notwithstanding, how could it be any good without Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy?!?

One could almost swear good ole Jane wrote that character just for him... if she weren't dead long before he was born.

But then -- stranger things have happened. ;)

I have to say I am a bit sceptical about this new movie. Especially when I heard about it. The guy is nowhere nere as cute as Colin Firth. And what is with Kiera's hair? It would look much nicer than that.

But I do have to say, the trailer does look somewhat good and I think I might actually enjoy seeing it. The few lines they have on it are right, so it gives me some hope. Maybe it will be good. I guess we'll have no idea until it actually comes out.

I believe they did not cast Elizabeth Bennett well at all. I'm afraid Kiera Knightly is more of a Jo Marsh from Little Women than an Elizabeth Bennett
