What a treat to wake up to a new chapter this morning! This was beautifully written. My favorite part, because I can picture it perfectly in my mind..

"David floated completely nude, hovering in a relaxed freefall crouch, hands, feet and gills sculling the water slowly.
His head was moving back and forth gently and his eyes were closed. A look of utter peace lay over his gleaming features."

Ok, that really is a 'Oh my Gosh' small world moment, isn't it?

My little sister was born in Madison General in August '69, and we lived there till 1977 when we immigrated back to Canada. My parents were students at the University of Wisconsin when you were born... my mom in Classics (thus the love of Greek myth) and my dad in computer science.

You know, we are almost the same age, I was born in '66, so in double checking dates, I found that the moonwalk landing memory was actually from nursery school, as I was only three at the time. It is an incredibly vivid memory though.

Check out Neil's cool 1/6th standard Earth gravity bouncing in this clip, I have been dreaming of it for my whole life it seems:-)

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!
How could you leave it there?!?!?!
Is David alright??!?!?

*takes a deep breath*

Okay. I'm okay.

First of all, I am a scuba diver and I love how perfectly you got all the details and equipment right! Dragged me right into the story, you know? And the emotions were so vivid. It made my heart sing to see David so at peace with himself and the world...

GAH.

Absolutely gorgeous writing, Renata, as usual!

♥!

I'm on pins and needles here!!! More soon, please?

Much, much love!

Ohhh, darling, this was a gorgeous chapter. The freediving, the equipment, the amazing underwater visuals - I was totally there with Kirk, revelling in the freedom of the waters, and marvelling at David's miraculous sea-self manifestation.

bb, this was so vivid, so well-written:

This... this was ancient archetypal myth materialized before him…

This... this was his life-long dream, sounding the depths in flexing, breathing physicality…

Kirk felt a deep stab of painful regret that it would never be him who got to experience this miracle that he had sought his whole life first-hand... the miracle of living native and free in the great chthonic underwater realm that he could only briefly, and with great pain, visit. He knew that dream would always be beyong his reach. And, when David met the Goddess, I got THE SHIVERS (as one would, before the divine ( ... )

Tethys scares me silly too! But she also lures me in dreams with her Siren song of cool, dark, crushing pressure ( ... )

Absolutely fascinating stuff. Your descriptions are wonderful. Yes to me the best part was the ethereal quality of David's comfort in that world. The singing in his mind because he was so overjoyed. Lovely stuff. And the otherworldly Mother presence was awesome.

Thank you Penrith dear!

I have always had a great interest in feminist theology, (or as some would say, thealogy)but this particular version of that interest has a lot to do with total research immersion.

So yeah, I am living, breathing, and thinking, Aquatic Ape Hypothesis (AAH), Sea Mother Goddesses, oceanography, infra sonics, etc...

You should see how much research I am doing for this fic! It's almost ridiculous.

I am all flipped, because I let them go down into the Monterey submarine trench, even though it should have been the Redondo submarine trench from that pier, just because the actual contours of the sea floor need to be wider, thus the switch in sea-floors.

I am *slightly* obsessive sometimes;~P

I hope you enjoy the next chapter as well dear, it's sort of the part 2 to this one.

Thanks for the kind words,

Love,
Renata
