I am headed off to a function now, but wanted to leave you some love, bb!
I enjoyed this chapter; Johns is as amazing as always, and the bathtub scene, OMG! The underwater kiss, and "David inhaled sharply at the feel of his smooth skin sliding against Cook’s body hair. Rather quickly, he realized that the hardness he was pressed against was Cook… completely bare" - hilarious, and so hot! mmmmmm.
*SQUEE* Yay! Yay! Yay! I've been waiting for this, and I'm so glad you posted!!!
*tacklehugs*
This was an amazing chapter!!! I'm so proud of David for being so damn brave! And Cook was just perfect, wasn't he? So understanding and just... so in love...
The Alice In Wonderland reference was genius, had me grinning from ear to ear! And then this lovely little exchange...
“Yes, it’s been a lot of days of believing impossible things. Really, it makes me tired sometimes. But Cookie?”
Oh Ren I absolutely love this story. It is so very different from anything else and it is so you, so special. It is just a joy to read about this world and this lovely, lovely pair. I adore them both. Cook all protective and loving and David so innocent and angelic. The bath scene was so soft and sweet. Please I hope you can write more soon. I really really want a complete love scene between these two because I know it will touch my heart and make me sigh. The underwater picture is gorgeous.
I'm just back from vacation and finally able to wave hello. *Waves*
I read this on my iphone while on vacation, but I need to go back and reread now that I can give it the appropriate attention. ;)
Very quickly, I LOVE THIS UNIVERSE! So effing much!
And I am ALWAYS happy to lend an ear during the tough times... glad that I could help. :) How's tricks?
Maybe we can switch roles and you can give me a shoulder... I had a fairly wretched week, and if I motivate maybe I'll post about it on LJ so that y'all can help me unstick my head from my ass. But alas, I digress...
So I need to go reread this. And I STILL have comments/ thoughts on your effing epic sling fic, if I ever get off my butt and give them to you...
Yeah, life is kind of kicking my butt lately. I was just messaging with Jehane, and the short version of my woes is, Marriage is hard sometimes. I'm trying to have faith in myself that I have the strength to figure out how I can be happy within the context of my current life.
But I am not sitting on my butt -- started a diet today (south beach... would someone please give me a fucking cookie and some red wine PLEASE) and got the name of a good therapist to talk to. So we'll see.
Oh, and vacation was lovely! A bit rainy, but I did manage to catch a live serving platter sized horseshoe crab for my 5 year old daughter.
A diet, and a new therapist? That's a lot of change. May you have good luck and success!
Yes, marriage can be hard, and Jehane is a perfect person to talk to as she has experience with non-psychopathic men... which I lack;) I hope this tough patch of real life passes soon for you bb.
That must have been so much fun for your daughter not to mention you! I am glad it was a good vacation.
Right now bbben is down with a virus or flu being coddled by mom, while the banana boy is out at the lake with friends. It's actually quite nice. I'm feeding him my (locally) famous chicken matzoh ball soup. It's his favourite soup, and helps his throat feel better.
Last night we spent 4 hours at our local urgent care where I wrote chapter 19 complete longhand. Four hours in a nice waiting room (with a cushy chair and TV for Ben in the kids area actually passed quite comfortably.

I'm glad you liked the chapter... it took forever!
Virginia Woolf once said,
"A thousand things to be written if I had time;had I power. A very little writing uses up my capacity for writing."
That's what this chapter was like, but I'm glad it came out okay.
It took 2 weeks to write 1500 words and then 2 hours to write another 2000. Thank goodness the ease is coming back.
And thank you for helping me past the bad patch dearest.
Enjoy the function, Ms. IWoM!
Love,
Renata
PS. My Johns sure is good-hearted and foul-mouthed isn't he? I LOVE writing that man!

“Yes, babe?”
“It seems so much easier now, with you.”

Thank you for your support through these last kind of tough weeks. It really really helped.
I'm glad you liked the Alice reference, of course a man who uses fugue in a lyric must know the White Queen's famous speech!
I'm a big "Through The Looking Glass" fan, and the Davids, well, they are doing petty well with all the impossible things!
Cookie is a marvel isn't he?
Next up, what happens AFTER the bath;)

Renata

It won't be a complete love scene yet.. they still have other firsts to cherish. But I am feeling remarkably unblocked, and eager to write again.
Thank you so much for your gentle encouragement, it really means a lot to me dear. Did you see your dedication? I mean it most sincerely.
Love,
Renata

I actually, just found another chapter of Wanderers in my neglected flist, and I can't wait to read it. I just need enough time to savour it properly.
So, I hope I made you as happy as you made me:)
