I actually wrote a short story for my mom when I was in college, about how she'd appear in my bedroom doorway in the middle of the night in her (Lantz, it was blue and white) nightgown to save me from my demons.
First off, I'm so sorry for doing the nightgown such a disservice by spelling Lantz wrong! My mind's eye sees the cursive on the interior tag, but not the T. I shall edit. Eek!
It's interesting to me that my mother inside the nightgown truly created a sense of safe harbor. Yes, saving us from the demons indeed. Would love to read that piece, Jo. I wonder what costume we'll be wearing in the memories of our own children.
