Its funny. Because of all the downtime on my job I recently started rereading my favorite book series again, A Song of Ice and Fire. The first book, A Game of Thrones, I have read numerous times. I'd say at least 5 now. As I was approaching the end I stumbled upon this wonderful quote. See its a fantasy series though it mirrors reality. There are no good and evil, just people... flawed people. Much like reality the past is romanticised. One of the main characters is a crippled boy of 8 years, and he was talking to his "maester" (basically the doctors/professors/wise men for the land) about some legends, and how despite all the bad that was happening someone would rise to the occasion.

The maester replied simply "You must put these dreams away, for they will only break your heart."
