Amy wondered how they were going to make a long lasting series out of a 6 month flashforward. I think we are going to see more than one flash forward occur.
Having just read the book, it's fresh in my mind, and I agree that it's very different than the series. I don't mind the 6-month flashforward, as it's much more suitable for television. The change at the end is a profound change, but it does not bother me terribly because if I had never read the book, I would not think anything of it -- in fact, I would think this situation makes perfect sense for TV drama. Especially because I've already absorbed a change in characters, a change in setting, and a change in the length of the flashforward, I'm already holding the book and the series in separate brain compartments, similar to the way I could let old Battlestar Galactica and new Battlestar Galactica exist side by side in my head.
