Do you think it's fair to point out in a newspaper article that a company is REFUSING to help out in a local community clean-up day (where voluteers put on gloves to go haul litter and trash out of a stream)? Especially if 100-plus other corporations are also donating time and labor to the cause ( Read more... )

Sounds like fair game to me! Especially since so many other companies are contributing to the cause. That is newsworthy in itself. I think the public has a right to know who the community-responsible businesses are in their locale.

You should be using the power of your pen to run the bastards out of town!! Or you could start a Watergate style expose on said company, bringing the entire (hopefully) corperation to its capitalistic swine knees!

Well, you obviously have forgotten where we are in place and time. Corporations run this country right now. If your editor allowed you to put it in print, and I seriously doubt he or she would, the paper would lose that large corporations ads forever.

There's a way things should be done and a way things are done.
