Why not surf Tokyo street fashion blogs so you can keep track of the trends? OR EVEN BETTER dress however you want bc you'll be an interesting foreigner!

I'm so excited for you tho. BRB, writing a list of silly things you should do while you're there but not tell anyone you're traveling with about.

I am only in Tokyo for a week, so I doubt I'll get to ride the JR it this time. It's really too bad because the Yukio Mishima museum is in the next state or something TAT. The cherry blossom idea is terrific though, thanks 4 the tip, I didn't even realize March will be the season! *A* Must hanami for real and not in Tommy's community yard under the tiny sakura tree haha

I wouldn't worry about getting shivved, you are a pretty blonde girl, you're going to be okay in Tokyo. If you're looking for places to stay, I'd rec Oak Hotel. It's located in Ueno and it's clean and reasonably priced? Well, I thought the price was okay, given its location.

Also, definitely get a Suica card! I didn't get a JR pass because I just wasn't traveling enough, the the Suica card was awesome, especially if you're coming from Narita.

Can the Suicard can be used to buy stuff other than train rides? What sort of stuff :o

It can! Lots of conbini accept it, so you can buy food items, magazines, toiletries...if it has a suica sign, you can use it in that store!

Mid-march, for 6 days. When are you planning on going? Thanks to your guidance I have learned that Japan does not have good cheeses. I will be prepared for this.
