Jenson shifted in the bed, leaning over Kimi slightly. The two of them had once again ended up in bed together after a race. Tonight they were both too exhausted for anything too strenuous, and they'd somehow reached a point in their relationship - if you could call it a relationship - where they were comfortable just being near each other ( ... )

Mark Webber / Sebastian Vettel. I'd like to read something exploring how their relationship has changed now that Mark is no longer racing in F1. Maybe they're in the same house after Sebastian comes back from a test, or maybe they're just on the phone and Sebastian is in his hotel room all on his own. This isn't a pairing I'd normally go for; I've never written it and I barely read it, but thinking about it, it does kind of make sense. Sebastian seems bright in the media and confident (bordering on arrogant) on the race track, but how much of that is a front? How reserved is he when he's away from the media? He comes from a fairly average background in Germany, he's certainly soft-spoken. I can kind of see him being uncomfortable with his sexuality... When he started out at Red Bull, he felt a need to prove himself. He wanted to prove to the team that they'd made the right decision in taking him, and he wanted to prove to Mark that he wasn't just a 'kid' who went round 'fucking it all up.' He learned a lot from Mark and he turned ( ... )

But the more they were together, the stronger Sebastian became, and soon Mark had fallen for him. It wasn't planned; it wasn't supposed to happen that way, but like many things in Mark's life, it felt out of his control. But they were both happy. They both knew how to switch from being racing drivers to being lovers, and there was a strange comfort to be found in someone who had a similar experience. Both of them knew what it meant to leave your family and be away from home, both of them knew what Red Bull expected from them. They knew they had to keep their relationship a secret, that they'd never be able to share their love with the world, but in some ways that was a good thing. It was the one thing that they could keep to themselves and not be scrutinised for. Was Sebastian too young? Was Mark too thin? Was Sebastian an arrogant little shit? Was Mark ever capable of winning again? The two of them were forever scrutinised in the media, but when they were alone, none of it mattered. Mark held Sebastian in his arms and instantly felt ( ... )

I don't see Sebastian as the 'nothing but smiles and speed' in the same way as I see DanRic. I see him a lot deeper than that. Deep down he _wants_ to be liked. The booing did upset him, because he didn't know what he'd done to deserve it. Were the fans bored of him winning? Didn't the fans understand that winning was what everyone was trying to do? Winning was why everyone gave up their social lives and being around for important family dates. Winning was why the drivers couldn't indulge in tiramisu and had to spend many hours a day in the gym. Sebastian would never complain about his life, he truly felt fortunate, but he did feel like his life could be better. He wanted to stand on top of the podium and feel proud, not embarassed. He would never try to avoid winning. He could only strive for perfection and hope that the people he looked up to respected his achievements. The booing would never stop him. He wanted to be the best, and knew that there was no excuse for another driver working harder than he did. Sebastian's intelligent ( ... )

Maybe Mark can't quite pinpoint what it is that attracts him to Sebastian. After all, he's a decade younger than him, hasn't quite grown into the muscles on his body; his lips seem too big for his face and his eyes can be so intense it freaks him out, and god knows he should spend more than ten euros on a haircut. There's just something about him that Mark can't let go of. Maybe it's the way he's so intense about everything he feels that he trusts Mark enough to be vulnerable around him, maybe it's the way that Mark can completely undo Sebastian, strip away all of his layers until he's just lying in bed doing nothing more than trembling and breathing and emitting a mixture of fear and desire, because whilst Mark has always been comfortable with his bisexuality, Sebastian still hasn't come to terms with the fact that he's gay. Maybe Mark tells himself that it started the first time Sebastian kissed him, but deep down he knows he's always wanted Sebastian, even when he was a 'kid' who 'fucked everything up.' Maybe Mark wants nothing ( ... )

Marcus/Kevin! Adorable little Scandinavians trying to find their feet in F1 and finding one another at the same time and all that

Kevin screwed up his face and pushed his sunglasses up his nose. He left the Sakhir paddock through the back gate, not really sure in which direction he was heading. He just needed to get away. He stuffed his hands in the pockets of his shorts and kept his eyes on the ground. The evening sun was bright and still hot enough to scorch his skin. He hadn't travelled much outside of Europe and it was quite a culture shock to him to be out in Bahrain, where he felt like the palest, fairest person in the country. He wasn't exactly homesick, but he was definitely having trouble adjusting to life in the F1 paddock ( ... )
