there's a new ~special amazing~ footloose dvd coming out here next month, which has an audio commentary with KEVIN BACON HIMSELF!!! i've told my youngest sister that she can have the old bare bones dvd when i get the new one. i recommended it to her when she asked me for something to watch, but ended up getting sucked into it and watching it again as well. my heart pretty much swelled when after the movie finished she skipped back to the scene where Ren teachers Willard how to dance (with "Let's Hear It For the Boy") haha.

when i was in year 10 we had a rebel english teacher show it to us and everyone was like "wtf is this crazy black and white old man crap"
I remember just being mesmerised and going omg movies mean so much. It was my second moment like that after Rebel Without a Cause. Between the two of them they created a monster.
I havent watched nearly enough bergman, so many pieces but so few films. I am always floored by his work, so its a pity.
yay for abstract and evasive future plans. God speed the reality. It gives me hope to see that someone has an idea... lol.
I thought the simpsons movie was a 6 at best. so stale... but then its the simpsons, I cant be a hater. Try die hard 4 for a pure action crack 10, it was gold.

I laughed - a lot - at the Simpsons movie, but yeah, it's nowhere near their best work. I think I upped the scale a bit because of Ralph singing over the 20th Century Fox credits before the very start of the movie because I DO EXACTLY THAT ALL THE TIME. It killed me.
I've just borrowed the Bourne films from work on the recommendation of a trustworthy action-cinema-loving customer (this was after an indepth conversation about how badass Mark Wahlberg is in Shooter) but yeah, it's totally time to take a break from this European art cinema and get into some massive explosions. Hah.

i was trying to hold of seeing die hard and marathon it with bourne but had no will power.
I love action films because you can smell the money. That and the crazy thoughts of "who writes this" moments that pervade. I love a really bland lead actor an eccentric villan and a snippy sidekick. so much hoyay and foeyay potential and many many gun metaphors. Makes for the lolz.
i have been meaning to get to a videoshop since the 16th to get shooter out. The release date has been etched in my brain for months.
(gala is lame)
