For the sake of making the last one of the season a Big Freakin' Deal, I wrote this review out old-school style: in a long, bloated narrative. The parts in bold are commentary (what would ordinarily be my bullet points), and the rest is re-cap. There is excessive use of victory arms (\o/) towards the end. fyi.

Also: "Oh my. I'm shocked at this unforeseen turn of events" was probably one of the funniest lines on SPN to date. :D

Dude, I thought i was watching a film as well, specially when Dean got so aggravated and determined and went to see the kissing demon.
(And once again a thought of the YED and John French kissing popped in mind.
I want more John.

John went off to live happily ever after, so I guess the only hope we have seeing him now is in flashbacks. :/

I imagine he's probably bemoaning himself for leaving, unsupervised, a grieving kid who has enough knowledge to be dangerousI loved that line. Absolutely perfect. I really hope to see more of Bobby in season 3 ( ... )

See, I'm torn - sometimes, I want this show to take an epic feel, which means having more characters running around, but other times the intimacy of just the winchesters feels right, too. I guess if Kripke's using Star Wars as inspiration, maybe he should shoot for epic. For more Bobbys. (AND I DEMAND AN ANDY/ASH REPLACEMENT ASAP) Goodness knows the boys are going to need more, if the war is as big as they think it is. Hell, they're gonna need their own army.
I'm totally confuzzled as to why we had a new Crossroads Demon this time.
I loathed the old one, but compared to this one, I totally want her back. I don't get how the CB summoning thing works, either. If a different one came every time, Dean should have kept on summoning until he hit a more bearable deal. Crazy boy. :/
If he doesn't AT LEAST get an Emmy nomination out of this ep, there is no justice.Kim Manners NEVER got an Emmy in his whole run on XF. Emmys generally don't take stuff like sci-fi seriously (I think the only ( ... )

Whyyyyyyyy didn't Dean do that? I didn't really understand that, either-- how he says that other demons want him but then doesn't bother to seek them out? Does he really just not care about his life that much?
I agree with everything you said. THIS SHOW IS SO GOOD.

But yeah, I guess it was like he couldn't get Sam back fast enough. :(

I think you hit the nail right on the head. I was kind of wondering that too, but I guess since Sam had already been laid out for some indeterminate length of time and Dean wanted him back so badly, he took whatever he could get. There's not a doubt in my mind that he'd have let the CD take him right then and there if it meant Sammy's life. I just keep coming back to that moment in the scrapyard when Bobby just looked at Dean and said "Do you have such a low opinion of yourself?" (paraphrasing, cause I don't have it on disc yet to rewatch it), because he really nailed it you know? Dean really doesn't think his life is worth much, except in trade for Sam's. It's going to be a hell of a ride in season three, waiting to see how they manage to keep Dean alive.

You know, when Bobby asked him if he really had such a low opinion of himself, I was wondering if he really had such a high opinion on life in general, for whatever 50-70 years Sammy would get - if that's worth eternity in hell. It's not. Dean is one sick puppy.
