I posted a short write-up today in
audiography on Idlewild's covers of "Boys Don't Cry" and "Don't You (Forget About Me)." I've wanted to do a post there for quite some time, but never sat down to do it until this morning. Apparently, waking up before 7:00* helps my motivation.
Off to job-finding-related things.
*Unplanned, of course.

While I was aware that HP pr0n existed, I'm trying to imagine it, and it's a little difficult. I may check her site out sometime since I need to familiarize myself a bit more with fic. And I heard that cheer! DO NOT get your hopes up just because it's HP! :-)
On a related topic, thank you--I'm basking in the glow of my new identity stage after losing my posting cherry. It wasn't a super-duper write-up (I originally wanted to post something on Husker Du or The Replacements, but people covered those pretty well), and I was afraid that my choices were a form of cheating, but it was cool to finally post something.
And how goes job-finding-related things?Eh. It's not bad, I guess. Claire did send me a notice for this really cool position near Dayton, where it essentially involves being a research assistant for historians at The Turner Foundation, ( ... )

Ahh...*squirms* She is an awesome writer--really just amazing. But, um, dark themes, a lot of the time. Although she does have some good humor pieces too, that are not so with the angsty desperation. And very really very much with the porny. Uh, all kinds of kinks, BDSM, non-con, chan... I'm not saying you're some innocent whose eyes I must shield, and god, this is just going to sound presumptuous no matter how I slice it, but I'd hesitate to recommend her fic to a fic-reading newbie. I think it'd be a little overwhelming. But! WHATEVER IT TAKES to get you reading HP fic! Whenever you're ready to dive into the fan fic pool TELL ME. *starts drawing up a list of recs, which you'd obviously totally be so free to ignore, but you know I'm just too excited at the prospect to resist*
It wasn't a super-duper write-upOh, but it was ( ... )
