Fanfic: Sabra La Tau - Aven + Parrot + unsafe food
It was a plant that neither of them had seen before. Clearly, this was reason enough for the testing of said flora.
"No, no, what if we steamed it?" said Aven with some consideration as he turned the piece of... whatever it was from side to side. It didn't even have the proper coloration related to most plants of earth. Lacking a certain color from the chlorophyll of the plant-life. More of a reddish color, if he were any judge.
"I say raw should be healthy enough," responded Parrot as he considered his own piece.
No one else was around, so at that statement, the two of them exchanged considering looks.
With a bit of shrug, they both ate their pieces.

"So we're agreed. That never happened."
"Yes. Completely. Absolutely."
The two of them looked at each other again, attempting to work out what had just happened.
Parrot was the first to break the silence. "Did you see how the words just--"
"Yes," answered Aven with an airy sound of longing regret.
"And the colors--"
"I miss them already."
"... should we--?"
"... nah."
