... I want to pet Alfred. Which means I want to pet America. There is something wrong with that statement. ;;

How I love holiday-themed writings that are published months after the actual holiday :3 It somehow makes things more nostalgic XD I really liked the comparisons you wrote between Alfred and Arthur as well as Alfred and Ivan. It's interesting to see how history puts different nations into the same shoes at different times, if that makes sense. For some reason it never occurred to me that Alfred was the type to throw a big birthday bash on the 4th - I've always written that holiday with the whole, fireworks, barbecue, and corn on the cob angle :D Okay, enough rambling ~ /orz

But I love the rambling 8U

And it's canonly shown that America does huge birthday things--well, big ANY HOLIDAY things (hosting Christmas is A++), really. America just generally likes being around people, from what I've seen of canon. He gets all puppy-faced when people try to weasel out of attending.

But knowing my own country... there's been periods where America as a nation just hasn't wanted to deal with people. At all. XD; Before both World Wars, for example. Isolationism is just something that the American people cycle through every once in a while. But I haven't really seen a major move toward that direction until this year. Hence, America wanting to stick to his roots and basically give the world a Fuck You Happy 4th of July :'D by not having a party.

So yeah. Thanks for reading and I do enjoy people's input on the matters :'D!

Oh, I'm not surprised that Alfred is such a party animal - all you have to do is look around the U.S.! |D It gets so crazy during holiday seasons. He's quite good at making the puppy-face; it's part of his charm that he ends up railroading people into things xD I really do like the current-events theme here P:

Huttah for ramble! :3

I love England and America interact in this.
"It has a crown." This made me laugh so hard and is somehow adorable.

Thank you for sharing!

This is awesomely amazing stuff youhavenoideaomg... It touched me. Dunno how else to explain that. I keep reading in between the lines and it makes me cry b/c it's so beautifully done ~

The ending is just perfect with a quick text message saying 'thanks.' That's prolly what makes me tear up. Great job bringing up our current relation with England and how leaning toward isolationism and the idea not to do it. And how America is exhausted and possibly sick b/c of the rough times. Ah. You write so much better than I ~ There's so much in here; I bet you don't even know half of what came out between the lines. So well done.

k. i'm done falling all over myself in praise here.
