20 Questions subsequently November 5 2005, 23:01:35 UTC
I swim in pools (not blue) of sentimentality and projection, and worry. When you say 'operation' you do mean something very small, on the scale of - those? (no, nothing is small if it is being done to Eva, you know I know). It can't be done by lazer surgery? Will you be able to hold her, will she be awake? How big is the cyst? Can you forgive all these questions? I imagine her, more projection, I remember my daughter at three as though yesterday, there, more cliches, an old woman on the bus, clucking at your child.

How long have you seen this analyst? More harm? More good?

Most of your questions, practical surgical ones, I don't yet know the answer to. We have a National Health Service here as I'm sure you've heard, it's not the greatest. So for her to be on the list means probably 2 month or so before I get to speak to the surgeon who will operate and get any detailed information. But no, no lazers, etc. It has to be cut and drained.

The analyst, well. 3 years before I got pregnant I think. Then through pregnancy and on and off since Eva was born. Off for about almost 6 months now. He wants to 'resolve' things. I think he's right it's a loose end. But I know true resolution would come through more work with him. If then. I swore against analysts for many years but without him I would have been finished long ago, there's no doubt. I still might be. Finished, I mean. With or without him. Some days, you know ...

I think I will avoid mentioning the spaghetti sauce treatment and possibly suggest a hat. Does your sister have advice as to analytic styles?

Eva has a blocked oil gland in her inner eyelid. She's had a few but this one's got so bad it's penetrated to the outside of her eyelid. It looks worse than it feels I think, she doesn't complain about it. But it has to be sorted out.
