Ok, so while Illustrator is a totally kickass program, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do the most minor fucking tasks. I can't even crop a goddamn image. The only thing I could get to work was some kind of clipping mask, which I had zero control over, resulting in this:

What is it you're trying to do? I don't have any tutorials, and there's a lot of shit I couldn't figure out at first, but I think I know the basics. Just know this: learn the pen tool, it's your best friend. This thing I posted here, as well as the thing that's on the bombunists site were done using only the pen tool

Thanks, that's about alls I know about the program too. I'm trying to figure out how to do things like change the color of one line segment in a polygon and crap like that.

And yes, I did redo my journal icon. That's officially the first drawing I've ever done with Illustrator. I'm still trying to figure out shading and shit. Just started screwing with that by updating my AIM icon:

I'm a nothing major. I started college in 97, went for 3 years as an English major, dropped out for a few, and have now come back under Art & Visual Technology. I've never taken a graphic design course in my life, is it that obvious?

so these portraits are to be done by ourselves or do you want them to have a uniform look? I could do everyone, or I know you could too. I actually do a lot of drawing, and I think I'm improving, but the stuff I e-mailed you is the only stuff that relates to communism or bombs.
