That's part of what I can't forgive about this place.

[These rather cold words brought to you by a girl who was lost, shamed, beaten and enslaved not once, but twice, thanks to forgetting what she learned in Luceti when she returned to her world - before ending up here again.]

...Have you been sent back to your world before?

Yes, for four years in my world, although it was only a short time here. [And having come this far, she should say the rest.]

At that time, I knew something very important for my world, and for me. It would have saved a lot of suffering for a lot of people. But when I returned, I didn't remember it. When I came back here, I understood that.

I see...

[Just what he was afraid of...]

Had any time passed in your world when you returned?

Sometimes that's easiest, though, not to remember. Some of us have too much to do where we come from, and memories from this place would only be a burden, another weakness we cannot afford to have.

It might, in my opinion, be the kindest thing about this place.

How would it be a burden?

Remembering those lost whom you know you have no hope of ever seeing again can be difficult.

It can be, but it is still an important memory.

[Rydia is on her way from the battle dome after training there for a while when she spots Saleh approaching from the opposite direction. Perking up, she waves.]

[The wave catches his eye as he glances over at her.]

Oh, Rydia. Good to see you.

Likewise!

[She pauses to look him over.]

You definitely seem better off than last week.

I'm feeling much better off as well. Again, I owe it to you.

Well, if you look at it the other way, the same thing seems to happen in the normal world when you die.

I'm...not so certain about that...

[He's not even seeing it as relevant to the issue at hand.]

Well, no way to be certain about this, either. Until it happens.

At least people have returned to tell the tale. For death, it is not so easy, as far as a permanent death is concerned.

And that's why the system needs a resolution.

[voice] mountain_sage December 14 2011, 04:28:09 UTC
...What sort of resolution would you recommend?

[voice] godbent December 14 2011, 04:37:23 UTC
Isn't that obvious? You need to resolve this world's "problem."

[voice] mountain_sage December 14 2011, 04:52:34 UTC
That doesn't exactly answer the question. The question was, how?
