Toddler Mania challenge rules

Aug 29, 2010 15:07

Inspired by Jo's (joandsarah) stab at the Toddler Mania challenge earlier in the week I wanted to try it out myself, but it was hard to find a good rule-set so I decided to create my own, borrowing heavily from TreyNutz2 and simsdivad's rule-sets.

Credit must be given where credit is due:

Rules question: Is more than one activity table allowed? or more than one of any toy, I guess.

Absolutely, as many toys as you want. :)

Thank you Kim, I'm glad you enjoyed my attempt.
Will you post some pics of yours?

Yes, Caffie and Fuzzy went on a bit of a crusade there, but it was worth it, they got there in the end. I should've made it harder. ;)

lol - you sound so enthusiastic about it(!) :D

I see, well I never knew nannies would potty train the tots, but perhaps you are right about them having to have a high relationship, I'll check that one out if it ever happens in my game again.

Oh wow, look what I wake up too! Lol at all the detective work. Good going Shadey, and you even taught one to walk! I had no hope at the smart milk, I think I was lucky to avoid the shrink.
So does having the nanny make a lot of difference? Good idea with the buffet too.

The only thing you should NOT Do is: "Deletion of their urns/gravestones is allowed." That is a VBT and will bork your game. Never delete graves it's the same as deleting sims.

Ooo I never thought of that, thanks for bringing that to my attention Jo, I'll simply delete that part from the rules.

Detective work eh? It wasn't that hard really; you'd very kindly posted a link in a comment to iliveforsleep (I think) and then I had a mostly fruitless search for Toddler Mania challenge stories which lead me to simsdivad's blog. I'd like to find more Toddler Mania challenges to see if I can glean more tricks and get more points ideas.

So - fancy giving the challenge a go, using my rules?

Well I was going to give it another go, so why not. :) I think making 'mum' popularity is a good idea too. My family sims didn't roll any large wants except for a teach to talk which never happened.

Haha - great! And you'll post the result yeah?
In my search I read a comment somewhere that Family wasn't always the best aspiration, can't remember why, but it made me want to see how a non-family aspiration sim would fare. Popularity was obviously not a bad choice as the mum eventually rolled wants to be Best Friends with her kids. But - I think the key to getting the mum roll big wants in the first place is to let her sleep through one night, that's what Morgana did, because when she woke she rolled fresh wants, as the sims do. So perhaps it's not so much the aspiration as it is a good night's sleep that does the trick. Just as in Real Life eh? ;)

Nice rule update Shadey. I've never tried this challenge someday when I get some time to finish my BC.

I would never have guessed Stephen was mine since my current simself hasn't reproduced yet- other than the name being a clue, of course. He's very cute.

Thank you Steph, I am happy you approve. :) I hope you will try it out yourself, it's a very short challenge, just four sim days, but I am REALLY anxious (in a good way) to see the rest of your BC story. I hope you're getting on OK with it.

I think little Stephan is very like your simself, he has inherited almost everything from your side. He has these wonderfully cute cross expressions, and of all the kids he is the one I'd be most likely to play. lol yes, the name was a BIG clue, Caffie and Fuzzy worked that one out pretty quickly.

I haven't read through all of the rules, but the album made it look like a fun challenge.

Heh, fun but hard. Still, I'm in good mind to try and make it harder. Thanks. :)
