Apologies At Absence.

I feel I need to make a post to apologise to you all for not being very active in the simming community lately, the list of stories I have yet to read and comment on is growing longer and longer, and I just can't find the time to catch up ( Read more... )

Yay you posted! I've been wondering where you and Fuzzy have been lately on the exchange. I haven't been part of the simming community much, I've just been playing my Pleasantview neighborhood which is quite soap operatic. So what is the certificate that you're going after? I'm not sure we have that in America. I might just go look that up. Well I'm glad that you're going back to school, that's pretty awesome. I may not have little kids to run around after but I have lots of things that keep me busy (like my culminating project for school) Hope to hear more from you soon!

Yes, I am still here, and Fuzzy is about too, but like me she is also busy with RL stuff.

I can easily imagine Pleasantview as a soap opera. :D Ah, you make me want to go into game now and make Brandi's life all come out roses again. :D

Hm, I have no idea what the American equivalent to an HNC is but here is what wiki has to say about the HNC.

I tell you, it's scary stuff going back to school, least not because I am worried those old feelings of inadequacy will re-kindle and spoil my attempt to get get a higher education.

Thanks for calling by Frenchie. And don't worry, I will still be around, just more in the background than before. For a while at least.

Yes, I suppose it's easy to imagine Pleasantview what way. But I've been playing them for so long that all the little kids at the beginning of the game are grown. Like Brandi had her baby a while ago and his name is Logan and he's a teenager. Dustin and Beau are at college right now. Cassandra Goth has 3 kids with Don Goth. Dina Caliente has one son with Mortimer (who is now dead) and one son with Darren Dreamer. And there is lots of drama going on which makes it super fun!

Yes, I looked at Wiki and they said that it was about the equivalent of a BA or four-ish years at college here. Fascinating!

Don't worry about feeling inadequate, I'm sure you will do great!

Well I hope to hear more from you soon!

That's awesome. I wish you luck with your studying.

I'm familiar with Java, but I've got no experience with Python. I know there are lots of online resourses for both though. I can't think of any good ones at the moment.

Our tutor has given us a few links to on-line tutorials and stuff, but no harm getting as much into my bookmarks as possible. If you think of any, at a later stage, please do pop by and let me know, I will appreciate it very much.

Thanks Sue, I need all the luck I can get. :)

Aww Shadey! How exciting, I am so happy for you going back to school! And on computers -- that is something I could never do, computers scare me a little.

We are doing well, except for being sick and it raining for a week. No matter, that will all pass... in time. :O

Caffie!! *hug* Great to see you again, but I'm sorry to hear you are sick. Hope you get better fast.

Yes, it is very exciting to be studying, and as the weeks progress I am actually finding it a very liberating experience, as well as having loads of fun. Mind you, the state of the house is starting to suffer, I haven't hoovered at all since I started at the college, I just can't waste valuable study time for mundane stuff like that. :P And anyway; there are 4 other people in the house who are perfectly capable of operating the hoover so I really can't feel bad about it.
Well, computers kinda scare me too which is why I felt I really ought to get to know how they actually work so I know what is going on inside them.

I know you already know that I'm proud and happy and excited that you are doing this! It's so easy to just settle for the lot life dealt you, but it takes a certain strength of spirit to do something to change your situation. If you want a higher education, you just go out and get it! Bravo, my friend.

I can't remember what I did last weekend when you posted this. D: But this weekend I'm going to attempt to get some stuff together for a yard sale next weekend. :P Have to lighten the load. Physically and metaphysically. ;)

Thank you Fuzzy. *blushes*
I know I was very wary and unsure at the beginning but so far I am not regretting it. And even if I find I can't complete the course (God forbid, touch wood, and all that) I will never regret having tried. Already I have learnt a lot.

A yard sale sounds like a great idea; you get rid of surplus stuff and get richer in the process. Win-win! Good luck with it.

Thanks Moondaisy, I am still studying for my HNC, it takes a year to complete. The first exams start next month so we'll soon see how I fared. *bites nails*

I'm sure it will go well, but wish you good luck just in case! And again, well done for undertaking studies with a full household. :)

Thanks :)
It's not easy, I admit that, but others have done it before me so no reason why I shouldn't be able to too.
