I have a friend who is going for an art-ed degree right now, she's really into it and she really wants to work with younger kids, but the education classes drive her crazy. A BFA qualifies you for basically nothing, it's like have a bachelor's degree in english or something, it just says that you went to college. Grad school for artists amounts to being able to teach, and maybe a bit more respect when you apply for shows or whatever

Actually I'm happy to hear some input, especially from someone that I used to have art classes with. I think it's always good to hear opinions. So thanks!
That scares me because it's so true. I'm kind of leaning towards it. I do want to teach, but when you think about how lucky we were to go to Holt, it's different. That new school was packed with awesome things for art students, but the majority of high schools every where probably don't have the same kind of programs that we had. But if I were to teach at a college, I would be more than likely in a college that offered actual ceramic classes. I'd still work though. Even if grad school leaves Michigan and I stay with Best Buy, I have a pretty good chance of transferring my job as well.

Do grad school, pretty much everyone in our generation needs a masters degree to equate to what a bachelor's degree was to our parents generation.
school is more fun than work, anyways.
