Everyone seems to be having an LJ crisis around me and I'm just...not. Russia owned the thing for years already? Clearly people can do what they want with their own journals, but if you already abandoned the thing years ago, I don't see the point in coming back to delete it. They already had your data. What really annoys me about the DW thing is that it doesn't identify LJ users that already moved to DW. I know one can claim their comments basically, but I'm not gonna go around and tell everyone that they left comments on my account and please claim them now. I also don't like the themes on DW, I put a lot of work in mine here but I can't copy it 1 to 1, so my DW one looks stupid now ._.

Just a drive-by comment from a lurker/stranger but omg I feel you so much on the LJ thing. No one really cared when Russia bought LJ years ago, no one cared (or even noticed?) when they moved the servers to Russia last year, so why is the TOS suddenly the deal-breaker? Whose lj even gets 3k hits a day, jesus. And so true about the dead links, I didn't even think of that, ugh. :/

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who is indifferent to the latest LJ news. It's not as if most people here had anything terribly interesting to any sorts of Russian government agents...unless they are interested in fic, or fandom, or the bits and bobs we post about our real lives ;)
