Today was dangerous X_X!
Explanation: Last year around september, chu cindy and I were walking downtown, we were stopped by 3 Mormon missionaries who tried to make us go to their church.
Cindy and I (chu didn't come 'cause she went to Oakville) went because of 2 reasons: 1. those boys were really dedicated, didn't want to break their hearts, 2 (more importantly). pure curiosity to see a white guy speak Chinese.
It turned out to be a scary-ass experience since their church was located in a basement of the worst part of Hamilton. The poorest part of town, where it is not uncommon to discover government-welfarers, the mentally-challenged, or those who look like they haven't taken a shower in weeks hanging on the sidewalks at night.
They led us deep into the basement, where it was awfully quiet, religious paintings hang everywhere, not a single person down there other than me, cindy, and 3 missionaries who we don't even know.
We had to look at pictures of prophet Simon(? or was it something else), and pray awkwardly for several minutes. That, followed by a long, long, long lecture about Jesus visiting America. They even gave us 3 books of Mormons in the end, and asked us to come to the church again. Even after subtle rejections, they still asked again and again for our contact info.
Overall, for me and cindy - 2 totally non-religious people who have never been exposed to such environment, they seemed really obsessed and downright freaky.
today When I went to switch bus in downtown, I saw 2 guys in white dress-shirt and blackpants, talking to a group of clueless looking Chinese boys.
one guy turned around.
I realized it was THOSE Mormon missionaries!
I quickly turned around and sprinted the other direction without even bothering to check if he saw me or not X^(
