i'd forgotten how quiet it is in julian. all this time i've been thinking, "i'll be in my parents' new house in julian", and i had forgotten how all you can hear up here is crickets. ahhhh. after 4 months of waves and engine and (on particularly early thursday mornings) anchor, this is nice. if disconcerting

thanks! and hey -- i recently bought and started playing "silent hill 2" (it was $8 at gamestop, how could i refuse), and damn that game is scary! my friend and i were squealing like little girls who've found a rat in the kitchen whenever we encountered one of those mannequin things: "kill it! kill it!" fun stuff.
