I declare last night officially to have been a raging success.
A good number of the old guard didn't show up for various reasons, but some of them did, and a good number of new and reasonably new people showed up, and a fantastic time was had by all.
I will confess I was worried before it started. Almost no one RSVP'd, and some of the few who had RSVP'd were forced to cancel last-minute. So I kind of worried that people had simply lost interest. It has been seven years after all, and not everything lasts forever. Perhaps Capricornucopia had just run its course.
Boy, was I proven wrong.
tcaptain's play was first, A Wagon Load to the Stars, and the actors got so into it... they did a fantastic Star Trek shuffle, hammed it up, and had a great time, which essentially set the tone for the whole evening. I spent it howling with laughter at the other plays, and got a kick out of seeing mine performed as well, with flair and aplomb and a good amount of fun.
In short, it was fantastic. I think it might have been our best yet. We are pros at this now, and last night it showed in spades.
I got home past midnight after dropping
tcaptain at home, and was so revved up I couldn't sleep until 02:00, and I'm paying for it now, but hoo boy was it worth it!
