now, that's something! can I see photos? :)

i don't think i can ever afford hawaii, but I guess the american style wedding would do (run away from church straight to the plane, and fly away leaving the family with optional partying and obligatory cleaning:))

I'll see if my Dad can scan them. (This was 10 years ago.) It was a great deal of fun. And actually one of the cheapest options we could find. We started out looking at Las Vegas and realized we could do it in Hawaii for less. No family arguments. Just me and the husband. And the silly man who officiated. He was kind of eccentric. But really that made it all the more memorable.

What was your families reaction? were they disappointed? My family would go mad if I would do something like this. I don't think they would be able to think of it as of a real marriage. They would probably survive (with a great pain) the lack of wedding party but they would all insist on being in the church during the ceremony (there's no such option as secular marriage in my family).
