I saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince with most of my Ancient Greek class today. It's the first time I haven't seen a Harry Potter movie on its premiere day since Prisoner of Azkaban, but oh well.

SPOILER ALERT: SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE )

I liked the dissection. =) And I did really enjoy this movie! I loved the first two, because they were very accurate to the book, but I've highly disliked 3, 4, and 5. This one was a lot more like the first two (they wore their uniforms!), and, like you said, they included pretty much everything important. It's funny...I guess because I haven't liked the past few movies, I was kind of put off by Harry Potter in general, but after this one, I have a strong urge [there are no urges] to re-read all the books. Maybe I'll do that later this summer if I can get all my summer homework done early enough (1 book report and 1 3/4 books to go!).

Oh, I enjoy dissections. I did them for every episode of Lost season five.

YES READ THEM. I was reading a comment on someone else's review that said that watching the movies and going back to read the books makes you appreciate the books so much more, because the world is so much more rich and there are so many little details, most of them foreshadowing.

I mainly disliked that the battle at the end of the book was downplayed so much, where HP just basically creeped after the DEs to Hagrid's cabin.
There was no funeral! RARGH! I loved that scene.
And there was no Quidditch final thing for Harry to not go to then get to kiss Ginny in the common room; instead it was awkward and "You can hide me up here if you want" *poof* "I dissapear because Dean and I haven't broken up yet, shhhhh..."
Other than that, I liked it. Was the actress playing Tonks completely different? Or did her hair/makeup just make her look diff?

Oh yeah, I didn't like how they changed the kiss. Harry/Ginny just seemed really awkward. Especially the shoelace scene...

Tonks was the same actress, I think. She just had normal hair (because in the book she was all depressed because she thought Remus didn't love her, so her hair was not colorful). I hate how much Tonks is downplayed in the movie, though. She's one of my favorites. (Two years later, I still can't get over the fact that she and Remus were killed off offscreen.)

I'm just hoping that DH Part 1 will begin with the funeral, because it would be sad if Dumbledore never got laid to rest.

hahahaha
In my mind I accidently cut off "to rest" when I read your last sentance, and I was like, "eh?!...yeah"
