[the timestamp on the feed is 12:30 AM and ranka, sitting on her bed with her knees to her chest, is still in her street clothes.  seems like she got home from a busy day not too long ago.  she stares the phone lying in front of her intently as if waiting for something.

[she hums in thought] She sounds like she's a good friend.

Fang...Fang...yes, a good friend. [just going to look away slightly, damn she misses her (non-ddd) bff.] It's been a while since I've seen her. We went through nearly everything together a person could go through.

...you should find her and catch up.

[curajas]

...I have to disagree with you on that. It's about being a l'Cie.

...what is she going to have to do, Vanille-chan? [it's tearing her up inside to hear her friend struggle with something that she can't begin to help with. what could this focus be that separates her from a childhood friend? to make her sound this hurt?]

Hope's Focus, Lightning's, Sazh's, Snow's, mine... I'm sorry--[she wished she had more time to plan this carefully but she's cracking. she won't tell the complete truth but she can tell what hope knows] Our Focus is... ragnarok.

[movinghair]

[it's something about the way she whispers it that sends a chill down her spine.] Ragnarok?

[the realization numbs her to the bone. her dreams--she's dreaming about destroying her whole world. this burden was vanille's. why? ranka holds vanille tight and doesn't push her to say anything. if she wants to say more, she will.]

N-none of us want to but-but.. [ranka's the nearest person, someone she can trust with at least half-truths. at the moment she grips her tightly. she needs to be held, to feel that someone cares. it reminds her of something fang would have done and the thought brought on more sobs]
