Wow, what an intriguing story! It was a fascinating concept and I really enjoyed this fic. Even though I must admit I got a bit mixed-up towards the end - right along with poor Dean, I guess. ;)
I'm usually not much of a fan of open endings but I think with this fic it fit perfectly. I really hope Dean won't die but will find Sam, and that he was real after all, though before you seemed to be implying he wasn't? Well, as I said, things got a bit confusing there for me... :)
In any case, this was a great read! Thank you for sharing.
I'm really glad that nobody's been too upset about the ambiguous ending, and (this might sound a bit strange) I'm glad that you thought that Sam-world being not real was implied. I was super worried that any readers would automatically assume that Sam's world was real because of the show (aka. you know how that world goes down, so it's easy to think that it's the real one), so I tried putting some extra hints going the other direction to hopefully balance it out.
Also yes um boop boop seriously thanks so much for the lovely comment o///o
Oh no, please tell me that doesn't mean that Dean won't be with Sam!? :( I'd much rather happily ignore and deny all of those pesky implications that you so artfully wove into this story, lol... ;) What can I say, I'm a sucker for happy wincesty endings. :)
Wow. Great story. I liked how you had Dean beginning to suffer under the strain of keeping up with two worlds. It was also a great idea to have Sam die in one world, so Dean was essentially choosing between Sam and Mary. I also like how you threw the incest angst in there with one offhand joke between Dean's friends throwing Dean for a loop, and then you had him get over it as soon as he saw Sam's face again. I loved Dean's logic for choosing: either live in a world full of monsters, or live in a world without Sam. And speaking of monsters, it was a great idea to use Jamie to show not all monsters are supernatural.
oh my goodness, thank you so much! It means a great deal to me that you'd leave such a nice, detailed comment so long after the fic was originally posted. ;w; Thank you very much! <3
This was so beautifully haunting, I'm moved by your work and your prose and the voice you have for this fic. It saddens me greatly, makes me wonder what happened at the end. I wish I knew, I hope he got his happy ending and ended up with Sam, or hell, if a life with Carmen would have made him happy, that'd be fine too. I just hope your Dean is happy and alive and free of his messed up realities. <3
