Touring tall ships.

Seeing my first opera.  - So glad I"m not huge anymore.  There were some big women in the audience and they looked so uncomfortable.  The woman next to me was sharing/spilling over into quite a bit of my seat.  I was so grateful my ass wasn't dueling with hers during the performance.

She (the Lioness) brings me early presents and then tells me I can't open them til tomorrow.?!  They are wrapped in maps.  Two presents.  One says it's  city maps (we're hanging in the city starting tomorrow night for several days) so that's very plausable.

Bought school supplies today, umm one of my favorite things about August. If I could just roll around in post-it notes like Scrooge McDuck in his vault I'd be such a happy girl. Notebooks and planners and files oh my!

So Matt and I are going to be staying downtown roughly from August 4 thru 9.

We are looking for cheap or free ideas of fun/touristy type of things on and off the beaten path.

We've been suburbanites our whole lives and have some time to spend in the city.

And we currently have this conflaguration of time and location but not much money.
