12 albums you really should own and if you don't then you should go find them or something because they're really good (a list)

1. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band - Live at the Hammersmith Odeon, London (1975)

this album is basically everything you ever wanted but never knew you needed. early springsteen years, when all he had was a leather jacket, a green beanie, and his amazing ability to turn your insides to jelly with his words. it's brilliant.

Thunder Road

2. Amy Winehouse - Back to Black

this album is so honest. painfully truthful and sad in the worst, and often, the best ways.

Love is a Losing Game

3. Jack's Mannequin - The Glass Passenger

if you know anything about jack's mannequin, or indeed about andrew mcmahon (lead singer-song writer, essentially his solo project) you'll know that by this point in his life - after surviving leukemia - he was debating on whether or not he wanted to continue making music at all. thankfully he did, and this incredible album is the outcome.

Caves

4. Ed Sheeran and Various Artists - No. 5 Collaboration Project

his most under-appreciated work, by far. it's very good, like really very good. if you're not too fond of rap, as i was before i listened to this, you might just find you like it here. it's not any of the stereotypes we've placed on rap. none of the "bitches and hoes", as my father would put it. just honest stories about families and situations and when shit happens.

Drown Me Out (ft. Ghetts)

5. Beyonce - I Am...Sasha Fierce

beyonce. enough said.

If I Were A Boy

6. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

as a kid, whenever i was frustrated i would put this album on and let my emotions fester and simmer and burn and perhaps that's why i'm such a fuck-up now. who knows. all i know is that this album is phenomenal.

Welcome to the Machine

7. Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago

pure poetry. every song is a gorgeous composition.

Flume

8. Dashboard Confessional - A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar

chris carrabba is the original emo. and damn does he make it work.

Ghost of a Good Thing

9. The Shins - Oh, Inverted World

the shins are kind of like if happiness and insanity had a child together. and then that child turned into the greatest kid you've ever met in your life and every time you met that kid you'd just stare at them in awe and be like, "damn!"

New Slang

10. The Decemberists - The Crane Wife

wondrous.

Crane Wife 1 & 2

11. Elton John - Madman Across the Water

elton's early days were a thing of wonder. and although this album has a lot of shit tracks (see: the second half of the album), it also contains some of the greatest songs in rock and roll history. and for that i tip my hat off to him.

Indian Sunset

12. Green Day - Dookie

my childhood, basically.

She

so yes! that is my list! and i would love you forever if you could drop some music recs down in the comments, because i need some more music in my life :)
