Parker had just finished wrapping Jack's present, and was now staring at the phone. "What bothered you about this weekend?" Blair asked, leaning forward. It helped him to think that even Parker was thrown off by the events in space.

"I don't know what to do, Parker. I love River but this whole thing freaks me out." Blair dropped his head into his hands and sighed. "It's not even like the whole thing with Bel. She's not possessed by evil or anything, she's just altered. There's option to exorcise or fix her with a spell."

"It's okay to be freaked, you know. It's only been two days. Give it time. River may have answers now." Parker sighed. "Yeah. Poor Bel. I wish... I wish that had been possible, with him."

Blair hoped that things with River would calm down, and that he'd be able to be there for her if it did. He winced at Parker, the freakiness of reavers being replaced with the freakiness of the Source. "Don't talk like that. If the Winchester's exorcised me then they might be able to do the same with Bel. Get the source out of him."

"Something...with the Winchesters?" Blair asked, confused.

"Something with Bel." She took a breath. "A large group went to the Underworld last night, to get Phoebe back. She was there with the Source. They fought the Source, and... he was vanquished." She reached out for Blair, her voice very quiet. "I'm sorry. Bel didn't survive, Blair."

Blair blinked, not sure how to process that statement at all. He barely felt Parker's arm gather him into a hug as his mind raced, trying to figure out another meaning...any other meaning for Bel didn't survive.

He couldn't come up with one.

"I don't know any details," Parker said quietly, one arm around Blair's shoulders, the other around his middle. "You should ask Isabel, or maybe Wyatt or Chris." She studied his face, and closed her eyes. Any minute now, it was going to hit him.

"Bel?" Blair whispered, his brain stuck in a loop of BeldidntsurviveBeldidntsurvive that wasn't ending. Then one thought broke through and he shook, grabbing onto Parker.

"The Underworld?" He asked in a tense, tremling voice. "It happened in the Underworld?"

"Yes." Parker was starting to get worried again. "Blair, what's wrong?"

"We sent him there! The exorcism, Parker!" Blair said frantically. "He was safe here but we sent him to die."

"What? No! Blair," she grabbed his hands, hoping to get his attention, "You did not send him anywhere to die." Parker shook her head, squeezing his fingers. "Look. That exorcism was on, what, Saturday? I think you told me?"

"Saturday, yeah." Blair said breathlessly, his mind spinning over the implications of sending his friend to die.

"Blair, he was back here, in Fandom, on early Sunday morning. Bridge and Anders and I talked to him." She rubbed her eyes. "Anders... tried to talk to him. He wasn't listening. He left under his own power." She squeezed his shoulder. "But Blair, he could have gone anywhere after that. Going to the Underworld-- that was his choice. And if it hadn't happened there, then they would have had to track Phoebe down somewhere else, and have the fight there."

"Back here? He wasn't stuck..." Blair was very glad that he didn't know that last week as he had only convinced himself to go sleep knowing that the Source couldn't get to him anymore.

"But if he got away once then he could do it again, right? They probably aren't sure about this time. They just think he's gone."
