Shellfish.... yay?

I'm cooking mussels with Brian. Have never cooked mussels before, don't know if I like them..they creep me out a bit..but I'm being brave. Hopefully the white wine will bolster me for gastronomic adventures ( Read more... )

ok.. I like mussels. At least mussels with white wine, tomatoes, basil and butter. Yum.

Any parallels you could draw to other foods known to Kit? I've always been squicked by shellfish, but would be willing to give them a try.

the nifty thing that I didn't know is that mussels don't tase much of anthing besides what you cook them in. They are quite benign and harmless realy. A good excuse to eat hot soupy stuff with lots of yum in it that you mop up with bread. And their a little rubbery, but in an appealing way so it's far less an excercise in chewing than it is in swallowing..it's the chewing part that made me hesitant.
