Back in my gamer/nerd stage, I used to play online shooting games, and my gaming handle was Mastapopo. When I made this journal, I dropped the 'asta' and used Mpopo instead. Thats absolutely awesome your cats name is Mpopo. Whats the story behind the cats name?

Heheh. Mpopo got her name purely by accident. I originally named her Harlow after the guy who did the monkey experiments, since she acts like a monkey. One day early in her life, a friend was working on an Excel spreadsheet on the computer, and she walked across the keyboard. The cell he was in popped up with "POPO" which was odd since she didn't step on those keys (think teeny tiny kitten feets). He looked at her, raised his hand, and without pausing said "MMMmmm. Popo." like an Indian greeting ("How. Paleface" or something). I was amused, yet horrified, and it stuck. Everyone refused to call her Harlow after that. LOL
Even weirder? A friend of mine who lived down the road from me in Atlanta had a boxer dog nicknamed Mpopo, derived from his real name Cody. Somehow they got from Cody to Coco to Popo to Ummmpopo. Weirdness.
