I did that once many years ago (1996?). I did sorta have a job lined up (for MUCH lesser pay but doing something neat), but quit a job I didn't like, packed up all my gear in a big Uhaul truck towing my car and drove from Boston to Tampa FL by myself and moved in with a couple I'd only met once!!!

It worked out fairly well, though I eventually moved to Atlanta, and this set me up (albeit, it took a while) for the awesome job I got now.

Funny how things go sometimes. Hope yours works out well too!

Big suggestion: Once you get more settled, get out and make some local friends. It helps!

Right now I'm trying to revel in the lack of drama in my life. I've been the "responsible" one going back to 1996 when my mother had her first stroke. After that was the downhill spiral of both parents' health, home care giving, nursing home, the death of my father to Alzheimer's, preparing the family home for sale, the sale, moving to a smaller place, my mother's death, putting my son through vocational school, and his girlfriend moving in and out during this time.

I think I deserve some ME time. Alone! ;-D

As soon as I get my finances from the sale of my house finalized, I'm going to start looking for a local church.

Your me time is well deserved. Just don't wait too long to at least get out to church and meet a few folks. I've had times when I isolated myself and that made my depression and health conditions alot worse. Good luck with everything and {{{{{{{{{ big hugs }}}}}}}}}}

I am glad you're here! We should do a meetup sometime of LJers in the area...like me, you, and dallion. :)
