Friday, August 6

We will post the answers to any remaining unsolved MQT quotes, and then on Sunday August 8 we'll start over.

So get those guesses in!

Does this mean we have to post what we owe from this term this term, or can we hold off until the 8th? I owe at least 15 right now, but it could go as high as 33, pending the responses I'm still waiting for info on.

Also, is there some sort of metod for reposting in reverse, i.e., finding unguessed quotes that someone else posted in the threads and posting both the quote (with the poster's name) and a guess? I've still got one quote that channonyarrow posted that I want to guess on, but it's in a screened thread, and I haven't seen it reposted by the original poster yet.

These will require me putting my head together with the other moderators and seeing what they come up with.

34 is from Ghostbusters. Bill Murray's character had just walked in, and Harold Ramis's character had just used a normal Twinkie to define the normal amount of paranormal activity in New York, then explained that the Twinkie representing the current amount of paranormal activity in the city would be some length and weigh some pounds.

Oh, cripes. 31 is from Clue; it's Colonel Mustard's reason why Mr. Boddy was blackmailing him. ("I stole essential aircraft radio parts, and I sold them, on the black market. That is how I made all my money. That does not make me a murderer!")

I continue to be an idiot. It's not 31 that's from Clue, it's 30.

It's almost Friday! 26376 August 5 2004, 19:14:57 UTC
Almost three hours until Friday here in Illinois, maybe shorter where the mods are, based on some timestamps. Anyway, I still have five guesses outstanding (with seven confirmed right and one confirmed wrong) from the first session here, and I'm hoping I can get something confirmed in the final hours here before time is officially called.

Green are the ones confirmed right, for which I owe three quotes a piece (21 so far) in the next round. Red are the ones I'm still looking for confirmation either way for.

Real Genius from channonyarrow (also subsequently guessed by aliaspiral)

The Wizard Of Oz from joiedecombat

Arsenic And Old Lace from shyday

City Slickers from talmanes

As Good As It Gets from talmanes

Ocean's Eleven from itsaslashything

The Cutting Edge from finitejester37

When Harry Met Sally from itsaslashything

Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid from flusterbunny

Guys And Dolls from shyday

Ghostbusters from lair_of_fenrir

Clue from lair_of_fenrir
