yea the pianist would definitely be on my list of runners-up, along with:

forrest gump
empire strikes back
raiders of the lost ark
the thin red line
schindler's list
pinnochio

and others

good list...although ive never seen spirited away or magnolia....hmmm i wonder what my top ten would be....probably all johnny depp movies.haha. HI by the way. lol. - vanessa

wow. pretty much every category group of films you've got there has at least two or three that i count as among my favourite.
i was happy to see your inclusion of:
Baraka
The Iron Giant
Dr. Strangelove
Roger & Me
Bridge Over the River Kwai
Willy Wonka
Singin' in the Rain
and
La Jetee.

those one's stood out for me.
