I've been in the same boat. Luckily she came back to us, albeit three weeks after her initial escape. Chances are if he's a friendly cat and someone else finds him, posting photos/signs will likely get him back to you.

does Roget have one of those microchips? You can also check the shelters. If he's friendly enough, its possible someone took him to a shelter, but who knows.
