I've lost count of the number of rats and mice that Max has caught and eaten in the last while. He has been catching one a day for the last couple of weeks! I don't mind that he catches them but the announcement of his victories is a little unnerving... especially when he proceeds to eat the animal in our bedroom and we're trying to sleep!

What a talented hunter! How do you expect him to inform you of his prowess if you are asleep, if not by eating the prey in your bedroom? :-)
My cat is usually too lazy (and probably too old) to hunt much.

I empathise - Bellamy's been catching grasshoppers for the last few weeks; not little crickets, but big, 3-7 inch long monsters, and bringing them inside to play with, preferably with an audience. It's bad enough when I'm cooking in the kitchen or vegging in the living room and I have a kitten playing jump-catch with a very large, very jumpy insect, but lying in bed and having him bring one into my room is not condusive to sleep. Especially when he wakes me up to show me his grasshopper; the one now sitting on the pillow half a foot from my face.
