I believe it fit to analogize that my emotional state has been pulled back and released like a rubber-band these days. It is with some pleasure that I announce the actual pregnancy of my wife Mildred. The child is due sometime in the summer.

Since I've written here, Edna and I have been working on Jack of All Trades, now dubbed Sunnyside. I ( Read more... )

I think you should definately act on this idea with Fairbanks. The studios run too much of the artists today and real talent is never allowed to flourish.

Your opinion coincides with mine entirely. I've been thinking it over, and I have a feeling that this could be a highly lucrative venture. It's not the studio my audience wants anyway. It's me.

Truly, without minds like yours and mine, Orson, the industry would implode. Studios and contracts be damned.

Now to think of a name for this organization... this alliance of artists...
It'll come to me.

I really want this idea to pick up. I want to have creative control over my pictures, and I do get some with my production company, but I want to see all that money that my pictures are making, I don't want it to go to some executive.
I imagine it would be a groundbreaking move for us actors, wouldn't it, full control...
I don't think that Doug could go without you either, Charlie, your the only good friend he has, or the only good friend that he truely likes. I imagine it's because you can match him cartwheel for cartwheel!

Ha! "Cartwheel for Cartwheel." What phraseology!

I knew you'd be for it. Of course Doug couldn't go without you, either in his personal life or on this venture... I applaud you and am absolutely pleased to have you aboard...

It's settled, then. This idea will take flight, very soon. I want us all to get together and go over the particulars. I'm going to phone David right away; if he jumps on it'll be too good to be true.

This could be the beginning of something big, Mary. Finally, a sanctuary for our work... imagine the possibilities.
