we can't face reality because none of us experience it. in our fairy tale castles waiting for us the end of each tedious day of school, we are bombarded with escapes from reality, material, electronic, chemical, you name it, we got it. sure, life is shit, but american culture has its (upper crust) citizens' heads in vices so they can't turn and hear the screams. what little experience of reality we do have probably comes from unplanned incidents or in paid outdoor programming, in which we still have guides and smuggled snack food-as well as up-to-date emergency management teams. what type of culture pays to suffer in luxury? us.

Paid outdoor programming is the best! Money allows people to create their own false realities with which they may trick themselves into having a happy life full of consumption. Them upper-crusties who have so wonderfully shaped our reality don't want to hear the screams because there may still be a faint glimmer of giult in there.
