Pull my strings and I'll go FAAAARRRR...

My parentals are in a rut about what college they want me to go to (i.e., they have different agendas for my life). I am apathetic about it, but I got accepted to SCAD. Thus that seems to be the only option. To add more irony to this situation, I got a letter today saying that I get a $1500 scholarship per year to go there based on Academic ( Read more... )

HEY. at least you don't HAVE a college degree yet, and therefore no one's hassling YOU about not becoming/marrying a fortune 500 CEO.

it seems there's something almost sinful about working at a video store after college...and so i'm thinking i should APPLY TO SCAD'S GRADUATE PROGRAM JUST TO THROW THEM OFF THE SCENT!!

Yeah, I am looking forward to being hasseled. I think they think that once I go to a great school i will suddenly be hit in the face by ambition and a drive to stamp out my fellow humans. and IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN. I want a job that enables me to eat, not have BMW's.

You aren't following the path to yuppie satisfaction! YOU DON'T WANT MORE?? YOU'RE SATISFIED WITH BEING HAPPY AND NOT DYING PREMATURELY FROM STRESS INDUCED CHD (coronary heart disease)?????? 'AND YOU CAME FROM MY BODY!??'

Well, I think you're a good role model.

i remember being harassed as a freshmen at calvary for smoking pot and drinking by the "cool" kids. The next year, they were all fighting over being the coolest for starting to smoke pot and drink. Then it seemed that i wasnt cool because i hadnt just discovered getting fucking up for recreational purposes(i had known the numbing benefits for sometime then.) confusing huh? anyhow, most of those people have kids now and sell cars or have developed nice meth habits and ruined there lives. I havnt even done meth!!!! hahahahahahah suckers!!!!! so ummmm yeah, party...

I am fucking thankful I never went to Calvary... Can't say I'd turn away a lil' meth though! Momma always told me to try new things..

im not just saying this to redeem myslf, but if you dont want to work in college, i would say go to armstrong before scad. everyone i know, including myself, works really hard at scad. you have to to stay in and keep your scholarship. i work twice as hard as i did at country day. - kate c

That does make sense. The attractive thing about scad is that it has more course offerings that I am interested in. But Armstrong would probably satisfy also. So i dunno, I guess i don't really lean either way on it.
