I've read the book three times now, and the many hundreds of lyrical passages never fail to move and humble me. Here is one of my favorites, taken from the end of chapter 33. This is written from Clive's perspective, of course.

I did the same thing the first time I read it. I was just so worried for all three of them. I thought, none of them will be happy. Clive will marry for convention, Alec will go off to the Argentine where he'll become bitter and lonely, and Maurice will push on, unable to end his life but unable to really live it, either.
The second and third times were much more comfortable reads. It was lovely to read a paragraph two or three times, out loud even, just to taste the words and see how one thought linked to another.
I would enjoy reading other people's favored paragraphs or chapters or whatever. I should check the links and see if anyone has made a post like that.

I'll look out for a great passage next time I read it though - and I think it will be soon :)
I know I love Forster for his wit, and I think that is what I may be looking out for in Maurice as well.
