this is completely random, and totally off topic, but was it you who posted a really long time ago with a bunch of links to examples of how horrendous PETA is?
i know it was a friend of someone on my friends list, cause that's how i found it, and since you're friends with multiple people on my friends list, i was wondering if it was you....
i'm writing a complaint letter, and the links would be super handy.
As an American who works in law enforement, I was reading this link from journal. While I cannot attest to Cook County's mistreatment of prisoners, I am curious as to what would be the customary punishment in Canada for such offense, given the time frame.
You mean what the punishment is for people convicted of murder? probably averages around 10-20 years. of course people rarely serve the full sentence, though. but people accused of killing cops generally get longer sentences and worse treatment.
the point isn't that he would get less jail time in canada. it's that he'd never get a fair trial in the u.s.... or here for that matter. it's not like our criminal injustice system is any less racist and fucked-up than yours.
He will be tried (if he gets to be extradited) for attempted murder but I get your point. I guess i will do a little research on the case, because it has peaked my interest.
