this news story recently? Was on Lj less when it happened, so maybe everyone's gone over it already. Anyway, it illustrates exactly what pisses me off about people who just HAVE to get their jollies in public. It's not enough for these two berks to fool around with a dog collar (with which I have no problems) - they've just GOT to do

My sympathy massively drops when they give an interview to the press about how she's a "pet". They weren't discriminated against for having a particular lifestyle, they were discriminated against for looking weird (because there's no way the driver could have known about their actual lifestyle, and the collar and chain thing means more or less nothing these days).
The argument they should be advancing is "We should not be picked on for looking/acting different". Their actual lifestyle is more or less irrelevant to why they were picked on, and they did not need to shoehorn it into the interview. The fact that they did makes me question their entire motivation for their public dress sense in the first place...

I find it very funny that the chick was saying 'oh yes, I is pet' and then took offence at being referred to as a dog.
Although she does look more like a ferret.
