There's always someone in the rec room, and almost always a card game underway (usually Triad). The only real variation on that theme is who's participating at any given moment.
Right now the players are down to four: Shark, Racetrack, Helo, and Louis Hoshi, with Hot Dog looking on and providing sarcastic remarks from time to time.
One of which meets Gaeta right as he walks into the room: "Come on, my grandma would've made a bigger bet than that."
"Yeah, well unless you wanna sit in and honor dear old Gram's memory, shut it and let the grown-ups play," counters Racetrack easily, tossing two more cubits into the pot. Shark hides a snicker behind his cards; Helo just rolls his eyes and shakes his head.
Gaeta catches Louis' eye, smiles small and warm, and lifts one hand in a silent hi.
