Anyone got a portable digital radio, are they as good as they claim to be signal wise or like digital TV are they prone to locking and vanishing because they don't like the fact that it's raining or the colour of your telly

Speak to squeezypaws about this - she is the queen of digital radio (seriously, she was involved in setting it up, putting the masts where they are and generally getting the whole thing off the ground, and still works with the multiplexes) and is an absolute mine of info. Drop a comment on her LJ or something like that and say I suggested you picked her brains - I know she won't mind as she's often said to me that I should get people to talk to her about it.

Do you think you might direct her to this post (I'll un-friendslock it), I think that's be easier than me appearing unannounced on her LJ. Thanks for the suggestion though, she does sound just about as expert as I could hope for!
