Thank you! It was a lot of fun, trying to figure out how to get Photoshop to do what I wanted it to do.

I don't know anything about modern Germany, but hopefully someone who does will come along and write you your story. :) Have you thought of posting it to the_challenger? There hasn't been anything new there for a while, but it's gotten some stories written in the past.

I don't really know what was happening in Germany in 1968 either. I just needed to write something "investigator-y" on the Post-it, picked Germany because Dom and Lij's outfits struck me as vaguely Germanic, and picked 1968 to put the photo back in the era of B&W photography. Maybe our team here is a radical antiterrorist group, sort of the opposite of the group that pulled off the attack on the 1972 Munich Olympics. Or maybe it's AU and they're superheroes! (In a universe where superheroes are much more gritty and much less "cape and tights".) If I keep this up, I'm going to end up writing the story myself! ^_^

When I look at it I get:

"Once upon a time, there were a group of friends.

Sounds kinda dull, doesn't it? What if i were to tell you that all that remained of this group was this photo?

Yeah. I dunno why that popped up either. LoL!

I can hear it though in one of the movie-style voice overs, and the camera's slowly zooming in. And maybe cigarette smoke. Being blown over the top of the picture.

Heh. My brain is in movie-mode obviously.

P.s. That's a really cool photo. How'd you get all those effects? (I'm still learning photoshop too.)

Unfortunately, it was all trial and error. I had an idea of what I wanted it to look like (the creases, the ripped corner, the drink stain) and I just kept trying things until it looked right. I suppose if I were really smart I'd have been taking notes so that I could do it again.
