Hanzel und Gretyl vs. the Mathematical Constant Of Doom

Mar 16, 2009 21:30

So, it was International Pie Day, this past Saturday: 3/14. Perhaps, more precisely, it could be called Pi Day…in case that helps out the maybe five of you who didn’t already get that joke. So, in anticipation of Hindy Pez being an opening act for the show tonight (and in celebration of 3.141596: world’s most well-rounded constant), we descended ( Read more... )

i had intended to be there, but alas, i was somewhat ditched.
from that point on doom was in the air, and i was wrathful.
my, when i unleash the fangs, it strikes terror in the hearts of men, and crushes the souls of those who catch the brunt of it. so i hope anyway.
regardless, it was not a pretty thing.

Actually, from my experience (and I've seen HuG 4 times prior to this show), Vas usually comes off as rather standoffish and very unapproachable. Of course, I don't think that this aspect of her ever goes away (part of the NYC attitude, I guess), but she definitely seemed to be in more amicable spirits than I've ever seen her before.

Of course, her demeanor during *soundcheck*... completely different story. ;)

well, of course her demeanor during soundcheck was a bit different...she hadn't become filled to the brim with that odd High School 90's punk show energy yet. Afterwards, they were both utterly approachable and seemed conversational, because we had infected them with our absurd Richmond energy...or so I hope. Hell, for all I know, every moment of her hugging the entire crowd was some sort of antithetical New Yorker agony, and she will immediately veto any suggestion of a return to this backwards burg.

Ha. Well, Loopy has *always* been approachable. It's Vas's job to be the bitchy one. ;)

definitely a show i was sorry to have had to miss, however having a case of death for teh third time since the school year has started, i thought it would be best to stay at home and try and rest. plus, there's already enough filth and disease in shockoe bottome without me bringing my sputum-hacking self into the mix.

hopefully they liked it enough to want to come back so i can get another chance to see them play at fallout.

It was a shame not to have you there, sweetheart. But I hope the night off means you're much healthier after repose. And, hey, there's always the Funkervougueht show in a month or so...maybe that one'll have something of the same feel.
