A friend of my family's has a business that often runs donation campaigns and keeps collection buckets etc. for families whose homes were ruined by fire/flood etc. They had a similar circumstance happen to them many years ago and they always try to help with that sort of thing.

That's really really awful. Are she and her family physically all right?
