yo man, this is a hard decision.
he's delaing with it the only way he knows how, eloquently, vaguely, and verbosely. ;-)
but seriously, leave him alone. this journal is for him to write, and not for you to censure.
peace,

I haven't said anything about this before...

It is in the culture of the Brandeis community to complain about little things, the cafeteria food, the lack of an honours physics class, the scheduling of chinese at the same time as physics, the quality of Gordon's vodka...

But in the end, very few people transfer out because they realize that:

1). All these little things that get on their nerves really aren't so bad.
2). No matter how good a school looks on paper you can never know what set of annoyances will await you there, might these things be worse at UofC? (You certainly didn't know about them before attending Brandeis). (What time does UofC offer chinese)

I know other people that came to Brandeis intending to transfer out immediately but have liked Brandeis so much that they have been persuaded to stay ( ... )

i was doing the whole subtle parenthetical thing, but here's what i really think.

do you want to be surounded by morons, or by people who are passionate about their intellectual pursuits? culture matters. this isn't about cafeteria food (better at u of c). this is about a community and an approach to learning that will shape the rest of your life.

i've been to chicago, man. everything in me says that there's one right choice for you. don't settle for "maybe good enough" and don't accept anything less than the best, because you have the potential to be that good.

that's how i feel about it.

That just sounds like another PR ad, "passionate about their intellectual pursuits" what the hell does that really mean?

Everyone at Brandeis is not a moron, Both places are world class universities.

Remember the people you've met at Brandeis and the fun you've had this year. Do you really want to have to start all over again?

Heh, JZL, appealing to my positive experiences at Brandeis won't get you very far ( ... )
